Well the second half of 2023 took a very unexpected turn.

Things were already busy with the Pendragon VIP weekenders and various other jobs coming in from corporate clients such as Flare, TSL and Whitelight, who still keep me in mind from time to time when things are quiet.

What really knocked me for six towards the end of the year was being approached to become the touring lighting director/operator for Steve Hackett for the “Foxtrot at 50” US tour. It would be the first time I’ve toured the USA and it was one heck of an experience. Everybody welcomed me on board and despite going up another level, things went very well. One thing that certainly helped was already knowing half the crew from previous work with Asia back in 2012/13.

2024 is already looking very busy and almost fully booked between the second USA leg of the Foxtrot at 50 tour, the upcoming Pendragon EU tour, and designing the Steve Hackett Lamb Highlights shows across the EU and UK. This would be my first full production truck tour as a lighting designer and operator.

Many things afoot, and possibly looking at upgrading my Capture licence and NX1 console already due to needing more DMX universes.

Onwards and upwards, It looks like things are really starting to takeoff for the better now, and I look forward to meeting the people I do on the way.
